Tunisia: Tourism sector to benefit from new cooperation convention

Tunisia's tourism sector is set to gain a new strategic partnership with an agreement between the Tunisian Federation of Travel Agencies and Tourism (FTAV) and the Tunisian Network of Amicales. The upcoming accord aims to formalize professional ties and elevate service quality for travelers.

At the heart of the agreement is the positioning of FTAV-affiliated travel agencies as the exclusive professional partners for the Amicales. This move will allow the Amicales to work securely with structured, licensed tourism companies that comply with current regulations. A joint ethical and professional charter will also be established, clearly outlining the rights and responsibilities of both parties. Mechanisms for mediation and oversight will be implemented to address potential disputes, thereby safeguarding user interests and bolstering confidence in the tourism services offered.

Both the FTAV and the Tunisian Network of Amicales emphasized that this collaboration is poised to unlock new avenues for partnership between travel agencies and various social and professional organizations. The federation anticipates this will invigorate tourism and generate fresh business prospects for its member agencies.

The meeting also served as a platform to discuss the FTAV's participation in the seventh national forum of the Tunisian Network of Amicales. Scheduled for June 13-14, 2026, in Sousse, the forum will focus on "Digital transformation and artificial intelligence within the Amicales and their impact on management systems and service quality." During the event, the FTAV plans to highlight its role as a sector regulator and educate the public on the importance of engaging with legal and authorized travel agencies.
