Tunisian Steeplechaser Marwa Bouzayani Wins Stockholm Diamond League

Tunisian runner Marwa Bouzayani has achieved a significant victory in the 3000m steeplechase at the Stockholm Diamond League meet, marking her dominance in the event.

Bouzayani crossed the finish line in 8:59.28, not only winning the race but also setting a new meeting record for the Stockholm event. This performance follows her earlier achievement on May 16 in Shanghai, where she set a new Tunisian national record of 8:58.09, becoming the first Tunisian woman to break the nine-minute barrier in the discipline.

Her season in the Diamond League has been consistently strong. At the second leg in Xiamen, China, Bouzayani finished fourth with a time of 8:59.25. She had previously opted out of the 2026 African Athletics Championships in Accra to focus on her Diamond League commitments.

Bouzayani's success in Stockholm underscores her strong form and dedication to the elite track and field circuit, positioning her as a formidable competitor in international steeplechase events.
