Turkey: 15 Detained in FETÖ Education Network Operation

Anti-terrorism police in Kocaeli, Turkey, have detained 15 suspects in an operation targeting the current education structure of the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETÖ). The operation, conducted by the Kocaeli Provincial Police Department's Counter-Terrorism Branch, focused on individuals allegedly managing educational institutions associated with the group.

Following technical and physical surveillance, police raided 10 educational institutions and the residences of 15 individuals identified as managers within these institutions. Among those apprehended were two fugitives previously sought in connection with FETÖ investigations.

During the searches of the suspects' homes, authorities seized a significant amount of digital material, banned publications, a large sum of cash, and documents related to the educational institutions. The operation aims to dismantle the organization's operational capacity within the education sector in the region.
