Turkey brings back 54 wanted criminals from abroad

Turkey's Interior Ministry has announced the successful repatriation of 54 criminals who had fled abroad. These individuals were subject to national and international arrest warrants for a range of offenses. The operation was the result of coordinated efforts involving various Turkish law enforcement agencies, including Interpol-Europol, KOM, Intelligence, and Counter-Narcotics units. Cooperation with law enforcement bodies in other countries was crucial in apprehending and returning these fugitives. Among those brought back were 29 individuals wanted under red notices internationally and 25 wanted nationally. The criminals were apprehended in countries including Georgia, Germany, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Austria, Ecuador, France, Croatia, Kazakhstan, Egypt, Greece, and North Macedonia. They were sought for crimes such as drug trafficking, premeditated murder, fraud, threats, violation of home privacy, child sexual abuse, robbery, counterfeiting, human trafficking, and incitement to prostitution, among others. The ministry emphasized its commitment to bringing criminals to justice, regardless of their location.

As a result of the coordinated efforts of the General Directorate of Security Interpol-Europol Department, Ministry of Justice officials, and KOM, Intelligence, and Narcotics Crimes Prevention Departments, Cyber, Public Order, and TEM Departments, operations were carried out targeting individuals who fled abroad and for whom arrest warrants were issued. As a result of cooperation with law enforcement units of the relevant countries; a total of 54 criminals, 29 of whom are internationally wanted with red notices and 25 nationally wanted, were brought back to our country.
