Turkey Hit by Severe Floods and Hailstorms, Causing Widespread Disruption

Our nation is grappling with the intense fury of nature as widespread downpours and hailstorms lash several provinces. From Samsun to Ankara, the impact has been devastating, transforming streets into rivers and inundating homes and businesses. The sheer force of the water has swept away vehicles and ravaged agricultural lands, striking at the heart of our communities.

The people are very dirty, they throw sofas, refrigerators, mattresses into the river, they leave garbage in the streets.

In Samsun's Havza district, the Hacı Osman River overflowed, causing significant flooding in residential areas and sweeping away cars. Residents, left to fend for themselves initially, are now seeing municipal teams working to clear the debris. Meanwhile, in Çankırı, clogged storm drains exacerbated the flooding, leading to traffic chaos and forcing people to seek shelter.

The garbage comes from El Molinito, the upper part of Naucalpan, we see a lot of styrofoam cups and plastic that people throw in the street.

Bolu and Yozgat have also experienced severe disruptions, with streets becoming lakes and underpasses filling with water, making travel perilous. In Kastamonu and Karabük, rural roads and farmlands have been submerged, highlighting the vulnerability of our agricultural sector to such extreme weather events. Even Ankara has not been spared, with hail damaging crops.

People don't understand that throwing garbage affects everyone, yesterday everyone was desperate because there was no passage due to the water accumulation. They collected mud all night.

There was an overflow in the Río Hondo due to the saturation of garbage, the garbage got stuck in the structure under the bridge, logs and garbage. The authorities came to help us clean the surveillance area so it wouldn't be a focus of infection, however, we ask for help inside the subdivision.
