Turkey's 2026 LGS Exam Results and High School Application Timeline Announced

Millions of eighth-grade students in Turkey are awaiting the results of the Liselere Geçiş Sistemi (LGS) central exam, marking the end of the national high school entrance examination period. Attention has now shifted to the Ministry of National Education (MEB) for the announcement of exam results and the subsequent high school application process.

The 2026 LGS results are anticipated to be announced in the last week of June, with estimates ranging from June 26 to June 30. Students will be able to access their scores on the MEB's official website, meb.gov.tr, using their Turkish identification numbers and birth dates. The digital announcement will serve as the official notification, as result documents will not be mailed.

Following the release of LGS results, the preference period for high schools is expected to commence in the first week of July, likely between July 3 and July 10. Students and parents will be able to create and submit their preference lists electronically via the e-Okul system at e-okul.meb.gov.tr using their e-Okul passwords. However, it is mandatory for these preference lists to be approved by the students' respective middle school directorates to be considered valid.

After the high school placement results are announced around July 23, a transfer period will begin for students who were not placed in their desired schools or wish to change schools. The first round of transfer applications is expected in mid-July, immediately after the placement results are declared, with a second round of applications anticipated in the last week of July.
