Turkey's CHP Ousts 26 Provincial Leaders in Internal Power Shift

An internal administration within Turkey's main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP), described as the "absolute nullity" management, has announced the removal of 26 provincial leadership bodies. The decision was made during a Central Executive Board (MYK) meeting chaired by Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu at the party's headquarters, where issues including expulsions, the convention process, and organizational changes were discussed.

Müslim Sarı, spokesperson for the "absolute nullity" administration, stated at a press conference that the removals encompass provincial disciplinary boards, provincial chairs, and provincial management boards. He also revealed that proceedings have been initiated for the expulsion of seven provincial chairs, who have been suspended pending a decision. These seven provincial chairs are Ali Osman Horzum (Denizli), Nail Kızıl (Muğla), Talay Yıldız (Eskişehir), Aykut Cem Yalçınkaya (Sinop), Özcan Dağıstanlı (Düzce), Onur Ulaş Demir (Kars), and Berkay Gündoğan (Tunceli).

In parallel with these removals and expulsions, the "absolute nullity" administration has appointed six new provincial chairs. The newly appointed leaders are Yılmaz Özkanat for Batman, Koray Ak Kılıç for Çanakkale, Mahmut Duyan for Mardin, Rıza Tekerek for Osmaniye, Tevfik Caymaz for Niğde, and Kemal Özcan for Tunceli. Notably, in Sinop, only the provincial chair was removed, while the rest of the provincial management remained in place.

This significant internal shake-up within the CHP comes amid ongoing debates about the party's leadership and future direction. The "absolute nullity" administration's actions indicate a decisive move to reshape the party's organizational structure and leadership at the provincial level.
