Turkey's sea temperatures rise, exceeding 30°C in many areas

As Turkey experiences above-average temperatures, millions are flocking to its coastlines seeking refreshment. The sea surface temperatures have become a key point of interest for those planning their beach visits.

According to the latest data released by the General Directorate of Meteorology (MGM) for July 24, numerous coastal areas are offering invitingly warm waters. In İzmir, Konak recorded a sea temperature of 31.3°C, while Karataş in Adana reached 30.6°C. Antalya's Serik and Konyaaltı beaches registered 30.5°C and 30.3°C, respectively. Mersin's Yenişehir also reported a warm 30.1°C.

Popular resort towns are also seeing pleasant sea conditions. Kemer and Fethiye recorded 29.8°C, Alanya reached 29.5°C, and Finike noted 28.9°C. Further along the coast, İskenderun in Hatay registered 28.8°C, matching Anamur in Mersin. Urla in İzmir was at 28.6°C, and Kaş in Antalya reported 28.4°C.

Temperatures remain warm even in the northern regions, with Hopa and Giresun reporting 27.0°C. Istanbul's coastal waters are also suitable for swimming, with Arnavutköy at 25.5°C, Silivri at 25.3°C, and Sarıyer/Kilyos at 24.4°C. The data provides a comprehensive overview for swimmers planning their activities across Turkey's diverse coastline.
