Turkey's YENİ Party Holds First Meeting, Elects Özgür Özel as Chairman

The YENİ Party, a new political entity, has officially launched its operations following its inaugural meeting at the Anadolu Club. Özgür Özel was unanimously elected as the General Chairman, marking a significant step for the party as it prepares to enter the political landscape.

Following the meeting, Özel announced the party's immediate plans. "Tomorrow, first of all, we will be at Anıtkabir at 11:00 AM," he stated, indicating a symbolic gesture at the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. This will be followed by the party's first Party Council meeting at 12:00 PM. The party aims to establish its presence in the Turkish Grand National Assembly on Tuesday, following the allocation of meeting spaces based on the new distribution, and will hold its group meeting as the main opposition party.

We accept everyone who says 'I am not there' among us," Özel remarked, suggesting an inclusive approach to recruitment and signaling that the party is open to individuals who may not have publicly committed yet.
