Turkey to launch AI assessment system on e-Devlet platform

Turkey is set to introduce a new artificial intelligence assessment system integrated into its e-Devlet (e-Government) platform. This initiative aims to gauge the public's understanding of AI and direct individuals to personalized educational resources.

The system is a key component of the "National Artificial Intelligence Literacy Program." It will allow citizens to assess their knowledge and awareness levels in the field of AI. Based on the results, users will be guided toward training programs that match their current knowledge and learning needs, ranging from beginner to advanced levels. The program emphasizes accessibility, with all educational content and workshops offered free of charge.

Educational offerings will include free online materials and in-person workshops. These will be accessible through existing digital channels like e-Devlet and the Education Informatics Network (EBA). Face-to-face sessions will be held at public libraries and community centers. The program's overarching goal is to raise awareness across all segments of society, from children to the elderly, about the opportunities and risks associated with AI. It seeks to equip citizens with the fundamental knowledge and awareness needed to use AI tools safely, responsibly, and effectively in their daily lives.

Turkey has ambitious targets for the program, aiming to reach 5 million citizens with training and workshops within two years. In addition to public literacy efforts, the country plans to strengthen its AI talent pool. By the end of 2027, the goal is to train 10,000 advanced AI experts and have 100,000 professionals complete micro-credential and sectoral certification programs in AI applications. This dual approach seeks to boost AI awareness nationwide while building a robust workforce capable of developing and implementing AI technologies in Turkey.
