Turkey unveils unmanned amphibious vehicle for mine clearance, drone defense

Turkish defense manufacturer FNSS has introduced its next-generation U-MAV, a "multi-purpose modular unmanned amphibious vehicle." This innovative platform aims to reduce the risks faced by soldiers during amphibious assaults by deploying unmanned systems in the first wave. The U-MAV is designed to operate autonomously, performing critical tasks without direct human intervention in hazardous environments.

The vehicle's capabilities extend beyond troop replacement. It is equipped to conduct mine clearance operations, detect and neutralize enemy drones, and provide crucial medical evacuation for wounded personnel. This multi-functional design enhances its utility and adaptability in complex combat scenarios.

Furthermore, the U-MAV is engineered to work in conjunction with the Turkish Navy's existing MAV/ZAHA amphibious assault vehicles. This integration allows for a coordinated and more effective operational capability, leveraging both manned and unmanned systems to achieve mission objectives.
