Turkish gymnast Ferhat Arıcan claims European silver in parallel bars

Turkish gymnast Ferhat Arıcan secured a silver medal in the parallel bars final at the European Gymnastics Championships held in Zagreb, Croatia. Arıcan, representing Turkey alongside Altan Doğan, earned 14.300 points in the final, where eight athletes competed. He was narrowly edged out for the gold by host nation's Illia Kovtun, who scored 14.700 points. Great Britain's Joe Fraser also tied Arıcan's score of 14.300 but took bronze based on tie-breaking rules.

Altan Doğan, competing in his first European final, finished fifth with 14.100 points. For Arıcan, this silver medal is his ninth career medal at the European Championships. It is his fourth silver medal at this competition, adding to his collection of two gold and three bronze medals. This achievement follows his silver medal win at the 2023 European Championships in Antalya, demonstrating his consistent performance at the highest level of the sport.
