Turkish University Entrance Exams Continue with AYT and YDT Sessions

Turkish university hopefuls are facing the final hurdle of the YKS entrance examination today with the Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Entrance Exam (AYT) and the Foreign Language Test (YDT). The AYT, the second session of the YKS, commenced this morning. It comprises 160 questions across four main areas: Turkish Language and Literature-Social Sciences-1, Social Sciences-2, Mathematics, and Science. Candidates have been allocated 180 minutes to complete this comprehensive assessment.

Following the AYT, the third and final session, the YDT, will take place this afternoon. This exam is designed to evaluate candidates' proficiency in foreign languages, offering options in English, German, French, Arabic, and Russian. The YDT consists of 80 questions, and candidates will have 120 minutes to complete it.

The Measuring, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) has reminded all candidates to arrive at their designated examination centers well before the scheduled start times, bringing their exam entry permits and valid identification. Latecomers will not be admitted to any session. The ÖSYM also noted that the population directorates in exam districts will be open from 07:00 to 15:30 for candidates who have lost their ID cards or have issues with their identification documents.

With the conclusion of the AYT and YDT, the 2024 YKS process will wrap up. Candidates will then await the results, scheduled for announcement on July 22, before proceeding to the university application and preference period. This final exam day marks the culmination of months of preparation for thousands of students aiming for higher education in Turkey.
