Turnaround in Illegal Abortion Case: Doctor Released from Custody, Charges Against Colleagues Dropped

Gynecologist Marek Rozbroj, who was held in custody since February 19 for accusations of performing illegal abortions on Polish women, is now back at his clinics in Ostrava, Havířov, and Bílovec. Although criminal investigators continue to pursue charges against him, he is no longer detained. The situation for his two close associates, a doctor and a nurse, has improved significantly. They were arrested alongside Rozbroj and initially accused of participating in the same illegal activities. However, the state prosecutor later decided to halt proceedings against them.

The case initially drew attention due to allegations of illegal medical procedures targeting women from Poland. Rozbroj's return to his practice while still under investigation highlights the evolving legal status of the case. The decision to drop charges against his colleagues suggests a narrowing of the scope of the prosecution or a re-evaluation of their involvement.
