Turtle members reunite on 'Happy Together' after 13 years

After a 13-year hiatus, South Korean co-ed music group Turtle (Twogeul) members Kim Ye-rim and Do Dae-yoon are set to reunite on screen. They will appear on the KBS 2TV variety program 'Happy Together' on July 17.

Turtle, formed through the Mnet audition program 'Superstar K3' in 2011, will also reconnect with their former agency head, Yoon Jong-shin, on the show. Yoon expressed his surprise and delight at their appearance, stating he had no idea they would be on the program.

Do Dae-yoon shared details about his life since the group's activities ceased. He has worked in various jobs, including in a warehouse, quality control, and as a bartender. Notably, he revealed that he recently worked as a manager for Jang Beom-june, the frontman of the popular band Busker Busker.

Kim Ye-rim reminisced about her time at Mystic Story, recalling how she practiced with Yoon Jong-shin's songs and how he would sometimes send voice memos of new songs. Lee Hyori humorously reacted to the idea of Yoon singing 'Alright' in his own voice.

In the early days of joining, I practiced with senior Yoon Jong-shin's songs. Especially when working on new songs, he would suddenly sing for me via voice memo.

The duo also opened up about the challenges they faced during their break. Do Dae-yoon spoke about his diagnosis of bipolar disorder, expressing regret for not confiding in Kim Ye-rim sooner and gratitude for her solo efforts. Kim Ye-rim shared her lingering disappointment over the abrupt end of their team activities, acknowledging Do Dae-yoon's courage in returning and reaffirming their strong musical chemistry.
