TVING accepts compensation claims from data-leak victims until the 30th, but former members must rejoin

TVING is opening a compensation process for members affected by a personal-information leak, with applications accepted through the 30th. Dormant accounts and members who withdrew from the service are also included.

Applicants must log in through the TVING website or mobile app, check their eligibility in the “MY” menu, complete identity verification and select their preferred compensation. The benefits will be provided in stages from the 6th of next month.

The options include a one-year security insurance policy covering up to 3 million won per person for financial losses caused by hacking or phishing, as well as TVING points worth 5,000 won. Applicants can also choose either a one-month advertising-supported subscription to partner streaming service Wavve or a 5,000-won discount coupon for a CGV combo.

Some paid subscribers will receive free access to higher picture quality and expanded simultaneous viewing from October 6 through the end of the year. Former members can rejoin TVING at no cost to complete identity verification and apply for compensation.
