Two 15-year-olds seriously injured in e-scooter crash

Two 15-year-old girls were seriously injured in Groß-Zimmern, near Darmstadt, after their e-scooter collided with a car. The incident occurred when the two teenagers switched from a bicycle path onto a crossing street, directly into the path of an oncoming vehicle.

Emergency services responded to the scene, and one of the girls, identified as the rider of the e-scooter, was airlifted to a hospital with suspected severe internal injuries and head trauma. Her passenger was transported to a clinic by ambulance. The 56-year-old driver of the car sustained minor injuries and received treatment at the scene.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision. The accident highlights the risks associated with e-scooter usage, particularly when sharing roads with other vehicles, and the vulnerability of young riders in traffic incidents.
