Two Accidents on A20 in Nordwestmecklenburg During Heavy Rain

Heavy rainfall created hazardous driving conditions on the A20 highway in the Nordwestmecklenburg district of Germany, leading to two distinct accidents occurring in quick succession. The first incident saw a 44-year-old driver lose control of his vehicle near Grevesmühlen. The car veered off the roadway and overturned, sustaining an estimated 30,000 euros in damages. Fortunately, the driver suffered only minor injuries.

Mere minutes later, approximately 15 minutes after the initial crash, a second accident unfolded near Lüdersdorf. An 18-year-old driver, after being overtaken by another vehicle, drove through a large puddle. This caused him to lose control of his car, which subsequently left the road, crashed through several fences, and collided with small trees. The damage to this vehicle was estimated at 22,000 euros, and the young driver was reported to be in shock.

Both drivers were transported to the hospital for medical evaluation. These incidents serve as a stark reminder of the dangers of driving in adverse weather conditions.
