Two arrested after explosion in Sint-Jans-Molenbeek

Authorities have apprehended two individuals in Sint-Jans-Molenbeek, Belgium, as part of an ongoing investigation into an explosion that rocked the Paalstraat area. The incident, which took place in the early hours of May 19, left one person with minor injuries and inflicted material damage on nearby structures.

Following the explosion, police responded promptly and initiated a thorough investigation. Their efforts led to the identification of several suspects. On May 28, multiple house searches were conducted, culminating in the arrests.

An adult suspect has been formally charged with intentional destruction by explosion and assault, with the acts occurring in a residential area during the night. The investigating judge has ordered this individual to remain in custody under an arrest warrant. A minor suspect involved in the incident has been placed in a closed institution.
