Two gardaí treated in hospital after collision with stolen car

Two members of An Garda Síochána required hospital care following a collision involving a stolen car during a police operation in Dublin. The incident unfolded late Monday night in the Ward area as officers conducted a managed containment operation. This operation was linked to an ongoing investigation into a burglary and the unauthorized use of a vehicle in Santry.

During the operation, the stolen car involved in the incident collided with a marked Garda patrol vehicle. Following the collision, the individuals who were inside the stolen car fled the scene on foot. The two injured officers were promptly attended to and conveyed to the hospital for treatment.

Fortunately, both officers have since been released from the hospital. The collision occurred during a police response to a criminal incident, highlighting the risks faced by law enforcement officers.
