Two General Post Office employees investigated for alleged corruption in splitting renovation contracts

Two employees from Taiwan's General Post Office are facing corruption charges for allegedly manipulating a renovation project. The investigation, initiated by the Investigation Bureau of the Ministry of Justice, centers on claims that the employees divided a significant office renovation into more than ten smaller contracts. This maneuver was reportedly done to bypass the standard public bidding process.

The alleged corruption occurred around the end of 2020. By fragmenting the project, the employees are accused of facilitating a swift repair process while also directing the work to specific, pre-selected contractors.
