Two hospitals in Osh region receive medical equipment from Japan

The Osh Interregional Combined Clinical Hospital and the Myrza-Ake General Medical Practice Center in Kyrgyzstan's Osh region have received significant medical equipment donations from the Japanese government. The initiative, implemented under the Grant Assistance for Grass-roots Human Security Projects, aims to bolster the region's healthcare infrastructure.

The Osh Interregional Combined Clinical Hospital was equipped with an endoscopic stand for transurethral resection and an ultrasound dissector for proctological treatments. The total value of this donation amounts to $114,700. This equipment is expected to significantly improve the quality of diagnostics and surgical interventions for urological and proctological conditions, thereby expanding the capacity of medical professionals to offer modern and effective care to residents of Osh and surrounding areas.

The embassy intends to continue supporting projects that directly improve the quality of life of local residents and meet basic human needs.

Similarly, the Myrza-Ake General Medical Practice Center received a stationary ultrasound diagnostic machine and a laparoscopic complex, valued at $111,300. These additions are crucial for enhancing diagnostic capabilities and providing advanced treatment options within the community.

Education, healthcare, and the development of social infrastructure remain priority areas of cooperation.

Japanese Ambassador Hirano Ryuichi highlighted the embassy's commitment to supporting projects that directly enhance the quality of life for local populations and address fundamental human needs. He emphasized that healthcare, education, and social infrastructure development remain key priorities for bilateral cooperation between Japan and the Kyrgyz Republic.

The Grant Assistance for Grass-roots Human Security Projects has been active in the Kyrgyz Republic since 1996, facilitating the implementation of 198 projects totaling over $13.5 million. This latest contribution underscores Japan's ongoing dedication to improving healthcare access and quality in Kyrgyzstan.
