Two IDF soldiers killed, four seriously injured in southern Lebanon

Two Israeli soldiers have been killed and four others seriously injured in an incident that occurred in southern Lebanon. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the casualties on Thursday morning, identifying the fallen soldiers as company commander Major (Res.) Harel Birkenstock, 34, from Nokdim, and combat soldier Chief Master Sergeant (Res.) Tamir Vaknin, 33, from Eilat.

The IDF reported that the incident took place on Wednesday, and the names of the four injured reservists were not immediately released. In response to the casualties, the army stated that it had conducted strikes against Hezbollah targets, citing violations of a ceasefire by the terror group.

Further strikes on Hezbollah positions were reported early Thursday morning. This development underscores the ongoing tensions and exchanges of fire along the Lebanon border. The situation remains active, with the IDF indicating continued responses to perceived provocations.
