Two injured in separate heavy rain accidents on German A8 highway

Heavy rain created hazardous conditions on the A8 highway near Neuhausen, Germany, leading to two separate, serious accidents within a short period. Both incidents resulted in injuries, with police reporting that the two accidents are not believed to be connected.

The first accident occurred when a 26-year-old driver lost control of his vehicle on the wet roadway. The car veered off the road, overturned, and came to rest on the ramp leading to the A8 towards Munich. The driver was trapped inside his vehicle and required extrication by the fire department before being transported to a hospital with serious injuries.

Shortly after the initial incident, a 34-year-old female driver also lost control of her car. Her vehicle first struck the central median barrier before colliding with the car of a 20-year-old driver. The woman sustained serious injuries and was taken to a hospital, while the younger driver was unharmed.

The Neuhausen exit remained closed until approximately 2:00 AM as authorities investigated both accidents. Police are continuing their inquiries into the circumstances surrounding each collision.
