Two Men Missing After Falling Into Tien River Following Birthday Party Aboard Tourist Boat

Two Vietnamese men have tragically disappeared after falling into the Tien River following a birthday celebration on a tourist boat. The incident, which occurred on the evening of April 18, has prompted an immediate search and rescue operation by the Dong Thap Provincial Police.

Trinh Quang Son, 73, and Vo Van Tung, 53, were among approximately 10 guests attending a birthday party on a vessel operated by Nguyen Thanh Tan, 23. Reports indicate that both men had consumed alcohol during the festivities. As the boat docked at the My Tho tourist port, the passengers began to disembark. It was during this process that Son and Tung fell into the river and were swept away.

The authorities, including the Firefighting and Rescue Police Unit of Dong Thap Province, are working in coordination with local police and other relevant units to locate the missing men. The presence of other passengers, including the wives of the two missing individuals, at the scene has been confirmed. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fall is ongoing, as the community anxiously awaits news of the search.
