Two More Detained in Gülistan Doku Investigation; Former Governor's Communications Scrutinized

A new development has emerged in the investigation into the disappearance of Gülistan Doku, with authorities detaining two additional suspects in Ankara. The operation is connected to digital materials examined from former Tunceli Governor Tuncay Sonel.

During the examination of Sonel's phone, correspondence between him and a dismissed police officer, Gökhan Ertok, came under scrutiny. These exchanges are reportedly considered significant evidence within the investigation file. The two new detentions bring the total number of suspects involved to five, including Tuncay Sonel, Şükrü Eroğlu, and Gökhan Ertok, who were previously arrested.

Previously, on July 21, 15 individuals, including Tuncay Sonel's wife Handan Sonel, were detained. Tunceli's Chief Public Prosecutor's Office indicated that evidence suggested the involvement of village guards in burying or destroying Doku's body. Meanwhile, the Erzurum Chief Public Prosecutor's Office stated that the detained individuals played a key role in deleting records related to Doku's alleged examination and treatment at Tunceli State Hospital due to a suspected pregnancy.

The investigation continues to unfold, focusing on the circumstances surrounding Doku's disappearance and the alleged actions taken to obstruct the investigation.
