Two Movers Arrested After Fatal Ladder Truck Collapse Crushes Student

Two workers from a moving company face arrest in South Korea following a tragic accident that killed an elementary school student. The incident occurred on August 26th in Cheonan when a moving ladder truck, reportedly installed improperly, collapsed.

The truck fell while furniture was being moved at an apartment complex, striking a young student who was on their way to school. The 7-year-old child, identified as C, died as a result of the collapse.

Authorities have arrested the ladder truck driver, identified as Mr. A (50s), and a foreign worker, Mr. B (20s), on charges of professional negligence leading to death. Investigations revealed that Mr. B allegedly failed to properly deploy two of the four support legs of the ladder truck, leading to its instability and subsequent fall.

Adding to the complexity, the arrested foreign worker was reportedly in the country illegally. There are also allegations that Mr. A falsely claimed responsibility to conceal Mr. B's immigration status. Police are continuing their investigation to ascertain the full details of the accident.
