Two Overseas Vietnamese Footballers, Khoa Ngô and Lê Giang Patrik, Receive Vietnamese Citizenship

The Vietnamese national football team is set to receive a significant boost with the naturalization of two talented overseas Vietnamese players, Khoa Ngô and Lê Giang Patrik. The official ceremony granting them Vietnamese citizenship took place on May 13th in Ho Chi Minh City, marking a pivotal moment for their integration into the national football program.

Lê Giang Patrik, a 1992-born goalkeeper, brings a wealth of European football experience. Since joining Vietnamese club football in 2023, he has become an integral part of CLB Công an TP.HCM. His height of 1.88 meters and his performance have led to the assessment that he meets all criteria to contribute significantly to Vietnamese football long-term.

Khoa Ngô, born in 2006, is a younger prospect who joined CLB Công an TP.HCM on loan in January 2026. Standing at 1.65 meters, Ngô is noted for his exceptional speed, technical ability, and attacking prowess, having already scored four goals in the V-League and National Cup during the 2025-2026 season. While Patrik is still undergoing federation transfer processes, Ngô is further along and could potentially represent the Vietnamese national team in the near future.
