Two robbers killed in Pakistan encounter; CCD official held for minor's murder

In Chakwal, Pakistan, two suspected robbers died in a shootout with Crime Control Department (CCD) officials, while a CCD officer faces arrest for the alleged murder of a minor girl and injuring her family. The incident unfolded when CCD officers opened fire on a vehicle carrying the family, mistaking it for that of robbers, resulting in the death of 9-year-old Hania Ahmed and critical injuries to her father and brother.

The family, including Adeel Ahmed, his wife Dr. Sidra Khan, and their children Hania and Aafan, were targeted during a robbery. While the robbers fled, the CCD's response tragically struck the family's car. Initially, the CCD official was not named in the First Information Report (FIR), but the charges were later amended to include murder, leading to his arrest.

Authorities identified the deceased robbers as Mohammad Abbas and Mohammad Feyaz, who were allegedly involved in a string of robberies within a three-hour span on Wednesday night. A senior CCD official claimed they were the same individuals who engaged in a shootout with CCD personnel while robbing an Australian national family. These robbers were reportedly linked to over a dozen cases across Punjab and had prior arrests. They were known to use disguises, with Abbas allegedly dressing in women's clothing with Feyaz to pose as a couple while casing targets during the day before striking at night.
