Two rounds, a fee between 10 and 15 euros, electronic voting: The Socialist Party validates the agreement on its October primary

The French Socialist Party has finalized the framework for its upcoming primary election, scheduled for October. The party has approved the operational rules, setting the stage for candidates to formally enter the race.

Aspiring candidates are required to submit their declarations of intent between September 1 and September 15. This period marks the official window for individuals seeking the party's nomination to step forward and announce their candidacy.

So far, four prominent figures have publicly declared their intention to participate in the primary. These include Raphaël Glucksmann, a current Member of the European Parliament, and socialists Philippe Brun and Jérôme Guedj. Notably, former presidential candidate Ségolène Royal has also announced her bid, adding significant weight to the contest.

The primary process will involve two rounds of voting, with a proposed fee between 10 and 15 euros for participants. The party is also exploring the use of electronic voting systems to facilitate the process.
