Two Siblings Killed, Three Injured in Road Accident in Bangladesh

A tragic accident on the Bonpara-Hatikumrul highway in Natore's Baraigram upazila claimed the lives of two young siblings and left three other family members injured. The collision occurred around 2:10 PM when a speeding truck collided with the microbus carrying the family. The deceased were identified as two-month-old Ezad and four-year-old Ehan, children of Akib Adnan from Rajshahi. Highway police and firefighters responded to the scene to conduct rescue operations. According to Md Monirul Islam, Officer-in-Charge of Baraigram Highway Police Station, one child died at the scene, while the other succumbed to injuries while being transported to the hospital. The injured, identified as Akib Adnan (35), his wife Ani Khatun (32), and Kona Begum (60), were admitted to Natore General Hospital. Police reported that Akib Adnan, an employee of a private company, was traveling back to Dhaka with his family when the incident took place. As their microbus reached the Royna area, a truck traveling at high speed in the opposite direction veered into their lane and struck their vehicle. The truck has been seized by the police, but the driver managed to flee the scene.
