Two White Tigers Seized in Durango, Mexico; Origin Under Investigation

Authorities in Durango, Mexico, have seized two white tigers as part of an investigation into a potential crime against biodiversity. The Federal Attorney General's Office (FGR) launched the inquiry after receiving a report through its Single Attention Window (VUA) in Durango.

Elements of the Federal Ministerial Police (PFM) and the Criminal Investigation Agency (AIC), in coordination with personnel from the Ministry of Defense, National Guard (GN), and the Federal Attorney for Environmental Protection (PROFEPA), executed a search warrant. The operation took place at a residence in the La Huerta neighborhood of Durango city.

The two white tigers were secured and placed at the disposal of the relevant authorities, who will conduct further investigations into their origin and the circumstances surrounding their possession. As of the report, no arrests have been made in connection with the seizure. This incident occurs approximately 10 days after the capture of a Bengal tiger named 'Kenzo,' which had escaped from a wildlife handling center.
