Two Youths Charged with Murder in Winnipeg Teen's Death

Winnipeg police have charged two 17-year-olds with second-degree murder following the discovery of a deceased 16-year-old boy in a city parking lot. Officers responded to a welfare check at a parking lot on Wellington Avenue on the morning of June 25, where they found the teen, identified as Bruno Delmar Young, with significant injuries.

Young, a member of the Bloodvein River First Nation who was residing in Winnipeg, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Winnipeg Police Service's homicide unit took charge of the investigation. Authorities later arrested the two youths at a business on King Edward Street.

Both charged teenagers, a boy and a girl, have been taken into custody. Their identities are protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, preventing their public disclosure. Police have not yet released further details regarding the circumstances of the homicide or the relationship between the accused and the victim. The investigation remains active.
