U.S. Secret Service investigating Iranian state TV video alleging Barron Trump assassination plot

The U.S. Secret Service has acknowledged a concerning video broadcast by Iranian state television that allegedly outlines a plot to assassinate Barron Trump, the youngest son of former U.S. President Donald Trump. The video reportedly claims the 20-year-old was under surveillance and offers a $10 million reward for his killing.

Nate Herring, a spokesperson for the Secret Service, stated, "The U.S. Secret Service is aware of the video and is investigating all that may be considered a threat to the people we protect." He added that due to operational security concerns, the agency does not discuss intelligence related to protection matters.

The three-minute video emerged amid escalating hostile rhetoric between the United States and Iran, a situation exacerbated by a conflict initiated by the U.S. and Israel in February. Earlier this month, Reuters reported that Israel had repeatedly warned the U.S. about Iran's intentions to assassinate Trump. The former president himself has previously stated he is "number one on Iran's list."
