UAE leaders vow to safeguard the nation on Union Pledge Day

The United Arab Emirates marked Union Pledge Day on Saturday, an occasion dedicated to commemorating the historic signing of the Declaration of the Union and the UAE Constitution by the nation's Founding Fathers in 1971. This pivotal event initiated a 55-year journey of development, progress, and global leadership.

Union Pledge Day, we renew our commitment to the principles of unity established by the late Sheikh Zayed and his brothers the Rulers. The signing of the declaration of the Union and the UAE Constitution on 18 July 1971 marked a defining moment in our nation's history.

Approved by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Union Pledge Day honors the vision of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the other Founding Rulers. Their commitment to unity established the bedrock of a nation built on ambition and continuous progress.

On his X platform, Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed wrote, "Union Pledge Day, we renew our commitment to the principles of unity established by the late Sheikh Zayed and his brothers the Rulers. The signing of the declaration of the Union and the UAE Constitution on 18 July 1971 marked a defining moment in our nation's history." He added that the UAE remains guided by the values that shaped its foundation, ensuring they inspire future generations.
