UAE Strongly Condemns Hostile Iranian Attack on the Country

The United Arab Emirates has accused Iran of launching a hostile drone attack over its territorial waters, saying air-defense systems intercepted the aircraft.

The UAE Foreign Ministry described the incident as a dangerous escalation and an unacceptable act of aggression. It said the attack directly threatened the safety of citizens and residents and violated the country’s sovereignty, security and territorial integrity.

These hostile attacks constitute a dangerous escalation, an unacceptable act of aggression, and a direct threat to the UAE’s security, stability, and territorial integrity.

In its statement, the ministry said the attack breached international law and the Charter of the United Nations. The UAE said it would not tolerate threats to its security or sovereignty and reserved its full legal right to respond in a way that protects its territory and the safety of citizens, residents and visitors.

The ministry called for the attacks to stop immediately and for full compliance with a cessation of hostilities. It held Iran fully responsible for the attack and its consequences.
