UAE suspends trade, financial transactions with Iran after attacks

The United Arab Emirates has suspended all trade, commercial exchange, and financial transactions with Iran, citing recent attacks on UAE-owned tankers and Iran's rejection of new talks with the United States. The UAE's Foreign Ministry announced the decision late Monday night.

This move followed shortly after Iran fired two missiles toward the UAE. One missile landed within Emirati territorial waters, while the second landed outside its territory. Despite these incidents, Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei denied Iranian responsibility for the launches on Tuesday. He claimed the allegations run counter to the principle of good-neighborliness and undermine efforts to strengthen regional trust and prevent further insecurity.

The UAE's Foreign Ministry Director of Strategic Communications, Afra Al Hameli, reaffirmed the UAE's commitment to dialogue, cooperation, and regional integration for peace and stability. She stated that the UAE rejects all claims regarding its economic relations with Iran. However, the Islamic Republic has been involved in numerous attacks across the Middle East since February 28, following attacks by the US and Israel on Iran, which have reportedly resulted in at least a dozen deaths and over 200 injuries in the UAE.
