Uganda's Special Forces Command Flags Off Teams for Inter-Forces Drill Competition

Uganda's Special Forces Command (SFC) has officially sent off its Alpha and Bravo drill teams to compete in the Second Inter-Forces Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Drill Competition. The teams departed for Bombo to conduct final rehearsals alongside participants from other military branches before the main event at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds.

Maj. Gen. David Mugisha, Commander of the SFC, addressed the teams, commending their dedication and progress. He stressed the importance of unwavering focus, discipline, and determination, reminding them that success in competition requires more than just participation. "Do not relax. Competition is not just about participating; it demands total concentration, discipline and determination," he stated.

The commander also cautioned the participants against detrimental behaviors such as alcoholism, emphasizing that discipline is paramount for success in military competitions. He highlighted that while the competition judges collective performance, individual commitment, self-drive, and coordination are crucial. Maj. Gen. Mugisha encouraged the teams to maintain smartness, flexibility, high morale, and a winning spirit throughout the event.

The Inter-Forces CDF Drill Competition was established by Chief of Defence Forces Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba to foster military discipline, physical fitness, and excellence in parade drills. In the first competition last year, the Special Forces Command secured two trophies, excelling in the Mastery (Showmanship) Drill category, although the Internal Security Organisation (ISO) claimed the overall championship. This year's competition will feature various categories, including Sword Drill, Cane Stick Drill, Crop Stick Drill, Foot Drill, Pace Stick Drill, and Mastery (Showmanship) Drill.
