UK Green Party members discussed 'killing zionists' in leaked WhatsApp messages

Internal communications from a private WhatsApp group used by UK Green Party members revealed discussions about "killing Zionists" and described British Jews as a "weapon" for Israel, according to a report by The Times. The group, named Greens Against Imperialism, was founded by Sophus Magill, a Green Party parish councilor. Magill stated that "Zionism has to go, it’s ultimately an apartheidal, ethnosupremacist ideology" and responded "Yes, I would like that" when asked if he wanted Israel "wiped off the map." He later clarified that he believed Israeli citizens not involved in war crimes and willing to coexist with Palestinians have a right to live in Palestine.

The message also noted that it was "unfortunate" but a "common thing" for them to go to Israel.

The leak also included comments from an account identified as Ashley Tubb, who previously opposed banning Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. Tubb described the IRGC as "by definition part of a national liberation movement" and claimed that recent protests against the Iranian regime were "instigated and armed by the Americans and the Zionists."
