UK Probes Major Muslim Charity Over Alleged Hamas Support

The United Kingdom's Charity Commission has launched an investigation into the Al-Khair Foundation, one of the nation's largest Muslim charities, over allegations of providing financial and material support to Hamas. This probe comes in the wake of the October 7, 2023, massacre and the subsequent arrest of the foundation's director, Mohammad Yousef Hasna, in the UK.

U.S. federal prosecutors allege that Hasna worked closely with senior Hamas leadership, delivering supplies, food, and funding to the group while masking these activities as humanitarian aid. According to the indictment, the Al-Khair Foundation's income significantly increased, ballooning from $41 million in 2023 to around $100 million in 2025. The FBI concluded that Hamad personally received over £500,000 ($674,500) from alleged cash transfers coordinated by Hasna.
