UK Updates List of Employers Licensed to Sponsor Nigerians and Other Foreign Workers

The United Kingdom has updated its official list of employers licensed to sponsor foreign workers, offering people searching for jobs from abroad a more current way to identify potential sponsors.

Published on GOV.UK, the Register of Licensed Sponsors covers organisations authorised to sponsor workers under the UK’s Worker and Temporary Worker immigration routes. The latest version was updated on September 4, 2026.

Jobseekers can use the register to research employers before applying, monitor companies for suitable openings and make their search more targeted. It can also help applicants confirm whether an organisation holds a valid sponsor licence.

But appearing on the register does not mean every job offered by that employer includes visa sponsorship.
