Ukraine Attacks Russia: Two Dead in Saratov, Moscow Bombs Ukrainian Ports and Ships

Russia's Defense Ministry announced that its air defense forces intercepted and destroyed 635 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones overnight across various regions and the annexed Crimea. The ministry stated this on a Russian state messaging app.

Simultaneously, the governor of Russia's Saratov region, Roman Busargin, reported that two people died as a result of enemy drone attacks in the area. This marks a significant escalation in the cross-border attacks impacting civilian areas.

In retaliation for persistent Russian aerial bombardments, Ukraine has escalated its own strikes against targets within Russia and occupied territories. Recent weeks have seen a focus on refineries, fuel depots, warehouses belonging to e-commerce giant Wildberries, and merchant vessels. Russian forces also conducted overnight bombardments targeting Ukrainian port infrastructure and ships in the Black Sea, which Moscow claims are used for military resupply.
