The front lines in eastern and southern Ukraine remain a theater of intense and complex local dynamics. Russian forces are employing urban infiltration tactics in the Donetsk region, while Ukrainian military actions against Russian supply lines in the south are yielding tangible results, forcing strategic withdrawals.

In the Lyman area of Donetsk, the situation is escalating as Russian troops begin to infiltrate the eastern sections of the city, particularly around Yampil and Ozirne. While the enemy's presence is described as sporadic and lacking stable control, military analysts are urging swift intervention from Ukrainian command to prevent chaotic and unnecessary human losses. Russia's advances are attributed to numerical superiority and thinly spread Ukrainian defenses, with Serebrianka being a key area of enemy activity, utilizing forest cover for assaults.

Lyman's strategic importance as a rail hub and a gateway to Kramatorsk and Sloviansk makes its defense critical. Meanwhile, in Kostiantinivka, despite immense pressure, a complete encirclement is not imminent, according to military analyst Dmitro Snigiriov. Russian advances are painstakingly slow and come at a catastrophic cost. Ukrainian forces face challenges from Russian-controlled heights in Chasiv Yar and Toretsk, complicating logistics, though the Shevchenko district in western Chasiv Yar remains a crucial defensive point.

Russian infantry is reportedly present in Kostiantinivka's central market and private sectors, employing tactics similar to those in Pokrovsk and Soledar. Small assault groups infiltrate residential buildings and ruins to counter Ukraine's FPV drone advantage. The human cost for the invaders is immense; within the last month, the Ukrainian 100th Brigade reported approximately 910 Russian soldiers lost in their area of responsibility, equivalent to two fully destroyed battalions. The city itself is suffering extensive damage, impacting civilian life.
