Ukraine targets Moscow with over 600 drones; Russia attacks Kharkiv, threatens UK

Ukraine launched more than 600 drones at Moscow overnight, an assault Mayor Sergei Sobyanin described as one of the largest long-range Ukrainian attacks on the Moscow region since the war began. The operation, spanning Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning, saw Russian officials claim they intercepted at least 180 drones over the Moscow region and over 150 elsewhere across the country.

Fires broke out at a high-rise building and a warehouse belonging to Wildberries, Russia's largest online retailer, in the Moscow region. Ukraine's Ministry of Defense stated that it has targeted Wildberries' facilities over the past month, disabling seven of the company's ten largest logistics centers. While no fatalities were confirmed from the Ukrainian strikes, some injuries were reported.

In retaliation, Russia launched an overnight attack on Pechenhy in Ukraine's eastern Kharkiv region, killing 10 people, according to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. "We will definitely respond to this Russian strike," Zelenskyy wrote on X, urging partners to support Ukraine's kinetic responses. Paramedics were seen inspecting the bodies of residents killed in the attack.

Meanwhile, Russian officials issued threats against the United Kingdom, citing the alleged use of British-made drones in Ukraine's deep strikes. Debris found in Ukraine reportedly showed British drones had been shot down. The Russian embassy in London stated, "Reports that the Kiev regime is using British drones... confirm that London is deliberately opting for an escalation of the Ukraine crisis... the higher the price it will pay."
