Ukraine War: Guided Bomb Attack Kills Two in Zaporizhzhia

A Russian missile strike on the southeastern Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia has killed at least two people and injured 42 others, including eight children. The attack, which occurred overnight, struck a five-story residential building, completely destroying two of its floors, according to Ukrainian emergency services and media reports.

Ukrainian media indicated that the Russian military used guided bombs in the assault. The city of Zaporizhzhia, the capital of its namesake region, is situated a mere 20 kilometers from the active front lines of the ongoing conflict. This region has been subjected to attacks in previous weeks as well.

Ukraine has been defending itself against Russia's invasion for over four years, with significant military and financial support from Western allies. The persistent attacks on civilian infrastructure highlight the ongoing intensity of the conflict in the region.
