Ukrainian Drone Strikes Hit Russian E-Commerce Warehouses, Expanding Targets

Ukraine has intensified its drone campaign, extending its reach deep into Russian territory and now targeting critical logistics hubs alongside energy infrastructure. In recent strikes, Ukrainian drones hit two warehouses operated by Wildberries, Russia's dominant e-commerce platform, located near Moscow and in the Tambov region, approximately 480 kilometers southeast of the capital. These attacks mark an escalation in Ukraine's strategy to disrupt Russian supply chains and economic activities. Wildberries plays a substantial role in the Russian economy; its 2025 turnover constituted nearly three percent of the country's gross domestic product, according to Bloomberg. The targeting of such a significant commercial entity underscores Ukraine's efforts to inflict economic pressure on Russia. Previously, Ukraine had focused drone attacks on oil refineries, aiming to disrupt fuel supplies and impact Russia's energy revenue. The expansion of targets to include major logistics warehouses demonstrates a broadening of Ukraine's operational scope and its increasing capability to strike sensitive Russian assets far from the front lines. These attacks place renewed pressure on President Putin's administration, highlighting vulnerabilities in Russia's domestic security and economic infrastructure.
