Umbrellas banned in Oslo for royal funeral

People attending the funeral of Norway's late King Harald in Oslo on Wednesday will have to leave their umbrellas at home. Police have banned umbrellas across a large area around the event.

Rain is forecast for the day, so police are advising participants to wear rain gear or other clothing that can withstand water. The restriction covers more than umbrellas: knives will also be prohibited in the same area.

The area will be closed to all traffic except pedestrians. That means bicycles and scooters will not be allowed either, as Oslo prepares for the royal funeral.
