Umrah Pilgrimage Bus Crashes in Nagreg, Bandung; One Passenger Dead

A fatal accident involving a bus transporting umrah pilgrims resulted in one death and several injuries early Friday morning on Jalan Raya Nagreg in Bandung Regency, West Java. The bus, carrying a group of women who had just completed their umrah pilgrimage, was traveling from Bandung towards Tasikmalaya when the incident occurred around 1 AM. According to the head of traffic accident investigation for the Bandung Police, IPTU Lilim, the bus veered to the right and collided with a wall. Police cited the driver's alleged lack of concentration and awareness on the downhill road as the cause. The impact killed one passenger, identified as LS, aged 52, at the scene. Other passengers who suffered minor injuries were promptly transported to the Cicalengka Regional General Hospital. The Bandung SAR (Search and Rescue) office reported receiving the accident notification at 1:55 AM WIB and dispatched a rescue team to assist with the emergency response and evacuation. The rescue team worked to extract the victim, LS, who was found trapped within the bus wreckage. She was successfully evacuated around 3 AM. In total, 14 people were involved in the accident, with 13 surviving and one deceased. All surviving passengers have since returned to their homes.
