UN Ambassador Danny Danon: Iran regime 'will not do any good' for Middle East, Israel

Israel's Ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Danon, asserted that Iran's current regime is detrimental to the Middle East and Israel. Speaking to 103FM, Danon stated that Iran has violated its Memorandum of Understanding with the United States and continues to prioritize terrorism over diplomatic negotiations. He further accused Iran of actively blocking the Strait of Hormuz and launching ballistic missiles daily at various Middle Eastern countries.

Danon's remarks preceded a meeting between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump, where discussions were expected to cover the Abraham Accords and Iran's nuclear program. Trump indicated he was already aware of concerns regarding Iran's nuclear activities, suggesting Netanyahu's input was not strictly necessary for his involvement.

In a separate criticism, Danon condemned New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, accusing him of inciting violence and spreading "blood libels." Danon pointed to Mamdani's prior threat to arrest Netanyahu and his subsequent inability to do so as evidence of the mayor's problematic stance.
