Unid, Q2 Revenue 399.8 Billion Won... Up 17.3% YoY

Unid achieved a notable 17.3% year-on-year revenue growth in the second quarter, with sales reaching 399.8 billion won. This marks a record high for the second quarter, reflecting an increase from 340.9 billion won in the same period last year and a 4.0% rise from the previous quarter.

However, the company's profitability faced headwinds. Operating profit saw a 26.1% decline compared to the previous year, falling to 24.2 billion won from 32.8 billion won. Unid attributed this decrease to rising maritime shipping costs, influenced by the conflict in Iran, and a reduction in chlorine sales resulting from lower customer operating rates.

Despite the dip in operating profit, Unid reported substantial gains in pre-tax and net profits. Pre-tax profit from continuing operations surged by 61.1% year-on-year to 54.9 billion won, while net profit increased by 81.1% to 43.1 billion won. For the first half of the year, cumulative revenue rose 18.2% to 784.3 billion won, though cumulative operating profit decreased.
